Dr. Michael T. DePascale
In June of 2014, “Dr. Mike” graduated at the top of his class from the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in Newark, NJ, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD). He went on to complete his 3-year orthodontic residency at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD and graduated with a Masters in Oral Biology in July 2017. During his time there, he researched the importance of assessing facial harmony and balance in addition to the teeth, something that he always focuses on when treating his patients. He had the privilege of being trained first-hand by one of the original Damon Champion orthodontists, of which there are only 12 worldwide. As a result of his unique experience, his treatment philosophy involves using state of the art Damon braces, minimal appliances, and light forces for more efficient and comfortable tooth movement. While his qualifications alone are an impressive addition to our team, we are even more excited about his energy, enthusiasm, and cutting-edge orthodontic training!
When he’s not in the office working, you can find Dr. Mike working out, running, or on his bike. You might even catch him in a CrossFit competition. Before moving here, he ran as a captain for Athletes Serving Athletes in Maryland where he gave individuals with disabilities an opportunity to train and compete in mainstream races, and he hopes to start a similar organization in this area someday. He is a big New York Giants fan during football season and probably sings too much country music. (Feel free to let him know. He is always up for a good laugh!). Other fun facts about Dr. Mike: he can’t open a jar of peanut butter without finishing it and if you want to hear a story about a pogo stick on Christmas, ask how his braces saved his front teeth!
He and his wonderful wife Liana love exploring new restaurants and enjoying the great outdoors together – so if you know of any must see hikes, places to eat, or outdoor activities nearby, be sure to let him know! He’s new to the area, so please help us in giving him a very warm welcome. He’s excited to be a Connecticut resident now and looks forward to getting to know you!
