New Patients

Braces for All Ages

As of September 1st, 2018 Mystic Westerly Orthodontics has joined with Kozlowski Orthodontics! You will be redirected to the Kozlowski Orthodontics website in 20 seconds

Why orthodontics

We want to provide you with a smile you can be proud of for the rest of your life! Teeth, and sometimes entire facial structures, are permanently changed by orthodontic treatment. Orthodontic specialists have extensive and specialized training that enables them to provide their patients with professional, personalized treatments.

Your first visit

We are always excited to meet new patients! Your first visit to the office will last approximately one hour. At this visit, you will get to meet with Dr. Mike and our friendly treatment coordinator.  We will take photos and evaluate your teeth to develop your custom treatment plan. This first visit is our gift at no cost to you! Dr. Mike, and the team, believe it’s important to take the time to explain to each patient what we are doing and why.

Common Questions

At what age should I schedule an orthodontic appointment?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic screening at age 7.

By this age, several permanent teeth in most children have erupted, allowing us to effectively evaluate your orthodontic condition.

Is it too late to have braces if I am already an adult?
25 percent of all orthodontic patients are adults. Health, happiness, and self-esteem are vitally important to adults. No patient is “too old” to wear braces!

Do I need a referral from my dentist to schedule my appointment?
No, you do not. Many of our patients are referred by their family dentist, yet many other patients take the initiative to schedule an examination themselves.

What will I learn from the initial examination?
There are five essential questions that we will cover during the initial examination:

  • Is there an orthodontic problem, and if so, what is it?
  • What must be done to correct the problem?
  • Will any teeth need to be removed?
  • How long will the treatment take to complete?
  • How much will the treatment cost?

How do I schedule an appointment for an initial exam?
If you, or your child, can potentially benefit from orthodontic treatment, simply call our office. We will be happy to schedule an appointment for you. All we will request during this phone call is some basic information from you.
